The Benhams became close with investigators, especially Ken Jacobson, the lead investigator from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation. He agreed to give Gilley a polygraph test, unbeknownst to case investigators. I mean this guy was a cop and he did this stuff. But as 1970 wore on, other facts started showing up that were strange, Jacobson told us, describing them as being too many coincidences to not be connected.
